Delano Chamber Orchestra
Director: Dr. Wesley DeSpain
Delano Chamber Orchestra 2024-2025
Many people think of orchestra music as being calming and soothing. It certainly can be that… but it can also be rowdy and boisterous!
Sunday, September 29, 2024- “Calm Down”:
The orchestra brings its calm side to the stage with Meditation from Thais by Massenet, featuring violinist Helen Nicoli, and Quiet City by Aaron Copland, featuring Erin Flory Robertson (English Horn) and Mikail Yeremin (Trumpet). The orchestra will also perform Handel’s beautiful Largo from Xerxes and the 3rd movement of Beethoven’s Symphony 9.
Sunday, February 9, 2025 - “Get Rowdy”
The orchestra gets a little bit rowdy with some Hungarian Dances by Brahms, the Scherzo (movement 2) from Beethoven’s Symphony 9, and Weber’s Andante and Hungarian Rondo, featuring violist Amber Peterson.
Sunday, April 6, 2025- “Rising Stars”
This concert will feature some of the area’s finest high school graduates performing solo works with the orchestra. Amazing talent is always on display with these rising stars!
There is nothing quite like hearing these marvelous works of art in a concert setting. We hope to see you there!
